Royal Albert Dock Masterplan Brief
Rebranding of the Area

Current Development

The area is currently known as a dead brown field site with five large vacant office buildings. The area currently lacks any activation with little to no permeability. There are no aspects of the site that can be seen or promoted to attract visitors or even businesses to the area despite it being an enterprise zone.

Achieving Objectives

The new development will rebrand the area into a vibrant mixed use development. If the objectives for the site are archived the development will be known as a mixed use space with many services with a mix of housing types such as affordable. The area will also be known for its improved connectivity to the surrounding neighbourhoods with a high level of attractive services with the area being known for its vibrancy and business. The area will be known throughout the entire city for having such big and great green connections in a heavily urban area resulting in a strong sense of well-being with incredible depth in biodiversity when compared to the sites pre development.

Heritage

The area is already known for its rich heritage however the development will enhance this through the use of promotion and the introduction of a museum further celebrating the Royal Albert Dock's history.
